Launching the 14th Season is Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and musician, Rick Springfield, who has created some of the finest power-pop of the ’80s, having sold 25 million albums to date! The Hollywood Walk of Fame star can boast 17 U.S. Top 40 hits, including “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “An Affair of the Heart,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody,” and “Human Touch.”
Springfield’s special performance at the Playhouse on Saturday, September 14th, will be an intimate evening of music and storytelling from his vast career.

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with world-renowned Mexican-American roots band, Los Cenzontles on Sunday, September 15th! Having recorded and performed with celebrated artists, including Linda Ronstadt, David Hidalgo, Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and The Chieftains, their powerful hybrid sound is creating a fresh Chicano voice for a new generation.

OLIVÉRio: A Brazilian Twist

Also celebrating their 14th Season, MainStreet Theatre Company presents OLIVÉRio: A Brazilian Twist performing Saturdays and Sundays, October 12th-27th. In this joyful retelling of Oliver Twist set in modern-day Rio de Janeiro, everyone has to choose between doing what is easy and doing what is right. This colorful musical tackles issues of poverty, inequity, greed, and betrayal - set to a samba beat and ending with a note of hope. (For ages 6 and up).
OK Go!, the rock band famous for their wildly creative videos, bring their unique magic to the Playhouse stage on Friday, November 1st. Like the band—who danced on tread mills and in zero gravity—this show defies categorization: it’s a film screening and a rock concert rolled into one. The band will perform their songs in sync with 20 of their iconic stunt videos, pausing for question-and-answer sessions with the audience. The whole family will enjoy this interactive concert, chock full of spectacle and wonder!
Broadway Princess Party
Join us for a magical Broadway Princess Party hosted by a royal trio of 42nd Street originals — Laura Osnes (Cinderella in Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella), Susan Egan (original Belle in Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast), and Courtney Reed (original Jasmine in Broadway’s Aladdin). Your every wish will come true as these virtuosic voices sing the petticoats off every princess song in the book while sharing hilarious and heartfelt backstage stories. Dress in your finest cosplay or royal attire, catch the carriage, and embrace the adventure Friday, November 22nd (for ages 6 and up).
Bass Player Hall-of-Famer Lee Rocker, an original founder of The Stray Cats who sold 10+ million records and earned 23 gold and platinum records, is making his Playhouse debut Saturday, November 23rd. As music video pioneers of the MTV generation, The Stray Cats secured their place in rock ‘n roll history with hit tunes like “Stray Cat Strut,” “Sexy and Seventeen,” and “Rock This Town”. From the cover of Rolling Stone, to Saturday Night Live, from headlining the US Festival, to touring with the Rolling Stones, and even starring in the Broadway show, Million Dollar Quartet, Lee Rocker continues to rock any town!
Mark Barnett and the Black & White Nights
Nick Baker presents Mark Barnett and the Black & White Nights on Sunday, November 24th. In this rock n’ roll journey through time, exceptional vocal talent Mark Barnett embodies the essence of Roy Orbison, perfectly capturing Orbison’s iconic sound taking on classic hits like “Only The Lonely,” “Crying,” “Pretty Woman,” “In Dreams,” “Running Scared,” and many others. Backed by Barnett’s powerhouse band, the Black & White Nights, Orbison’s haunting ballads come to life once again.
Weekends November 30 - December 8
Celebrate the season with Inland Pacific Ballet’s The Nutcracker, Southern California’s most spectacular production of the traditional holiday ballet. Performing weekends November 30th through December 8th, adults and children will enjoy the wondrous journey to the Kingdom of Sweets complete with dazzling sets, beautiful costumes, and more than 80 dancers on stage. For a hilarious alternative, The Nutty Nutcracker (December 6th only) is a zany spin-off about the bizarre adventures of Clara and her eccentric cousin, Anya.
The Jive Aces
World-renowned British band The Jive Aces are ringing in the holidays with their high-energy music and spectacular stage show Saturday, December 14th. Best known as the first live band to reach the final rounds of Britain’s Got Talent, this swinging sextet have even performed for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The Jive Aces can boast capacity crowds at The Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, Glastonbury Festival, London Olympics, The Kennedy Centre, and stages in 40 countries.
Ambassador of Americana, Charles Phoenix transforms the classic living room slide show into a roast-and-toast of classic mid-century holidays on Sunday, December 15th. With his quick wit and eagle eye for oddball detail, Charles lavishes commentary on the very best flea market-found vintage Kodachrome slides from the 50s and 60s depicting dining, drinking, dressing up, decorating, gifting, and glamming it up for the holidays. Oh, what fun it is to laugh with this crazy kaleidoscope of American kitsch!
Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Famer Darlene Love and friends deliver the holiday spirit performing both Christmas classics as well as Love’s original greatest hits, including: “The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “Wait Till My Bobby Gets Home,” “He’s Sure the Boy I Love,” and the #1 holiday classic “Christmas Baby Please Come Home.” Get ready for an exceptionally festive evening of soulful vocals and rocking arrangements Friday, December 20th.

In honor of Nat King Cole’s 100th birthday, accomplished film and television actor Keith David stars as the Man with the Velvet Voice in a theatrical holiday radio show on Saturday, December 21st. Featuring a full jazz group plus strings, Too Marvelous for Words: A Celebration of Nat King Cole is a joyful journey into the music and life of one of America’s greatest and most beloved artists.
Classical-rock fusion trio TAKE 3 and Yanni vocalist Lauren Jelencovich share a lively afternoon of your holiday favorites. Having studied at the world’s top music conservatories, they are known for expertly blending the old with the new. In addition to classic Christmas tunes, the ladies will also feature popular covers of film, television, and Broadway standards, even throwing in some Billy Joel, Justin Bieber, and Beethoven on Sunday, December 22nd.

With their recently released album, Coming Home, the Justin Kauflin Trio captivate jazz-lovers around the world. After losing his sight as a preteen, the undeterred classically-trained Kauflin gravitated towards playing jazz piano, producing his first album Introducing Justin Kauflin at the age of 23. His award-winning documentary Keep on Keepin’ On, for which he composed the music, will be screened at 7pm just before his live concert at the Playhouse on Friday, January 17th, 2020.

And Then They Came for Me

MainStreet Theatre Company presents And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank. This unique theatrical experience combines videotaped interviews with Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss with live actors recreating scenes from their lives as young teens during World War II. This production, running from February 1st-9th, 2020, is not just a historic newsreel brought to life on the stage, but also touches on many themes that are vital for young people to reflect upon today. (Due to serious subject matter, this production is not suitable for children under 11.)

After a nearly sold-out run of the acclaimed Hunchback of Notre Dame, Broadway at the Gardens is thrilled to present the feel-good musical comedy smash hit, Sister Act. Based on the hit 1992 film and featuring original music by Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this Tony-nominated musical is filled with powerful gospel music and outrageous dancing. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, Deloris uses her unique disco background to liven up the choir, breathing new life into the church and community. Running for two weekends March 6th-15th, 2020, Sister Act is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship.

Chipper has appeared multiple times on NBC’s The Tonight Show, The Disney Channel, and all six seasons of the CW’s hit series, Masters of Illusion. Described as a “cyclone of high-energy wit and laughs, and jaw-dropping magic,” The Chipper Experience: Where Comedy & Magic Collide! is a nonstop roller coaster of edgy comedy and original magic.
For families who have loved ones with autism or other sensory-related disabilities, Chipper will perform a special Sensory-Friendly show at 2pm. (Suitable for ages 9 and up).

An intimate 560-seat venue, the Lewis Family Playhouse is the crown jewel of the 89,000-square-foot Victoria Gardens Cultural Center. The complex at 12505 Cultural Center Drive is located off the I-15 at Foothill Boulevard, as a major anchor of Victoria Gardens.
