Big Bear Snow Play’s Magic Carpets Make Snow Tubing a Cinch for All Ages

Big Bear Snow Play is enjoying a great season thus far with the combination of ample snow delivered by Mother Nature and continuous snowmaking efforts, which has created a five to 20 foot snow base at southern California’s largest snow tubing park. Guests can enjoy these excellent snow conditions with an easy-peasy ride to the top of the snow-packed slopes via a Magic Carpet uphill lift.

Big Bear Snow Play has two Magic Carpets, both of which are comprised of a large moving conveyor belt that transports riders to the top of snow-covered hills, similar to an airport terminal people-mover. The purpose of Magic Carpet rides is to eliminate the fatigue of climbing the hill, which in turn provides opportunity for more downhill fun!

“With Magic Carpet lifts families can get more tubing in one hour than they would in a whole day if they were walking,” said Big Bear Snow Play Director of Operations Scott Voigt.

Big Bear Snow Play’s Magic Carpets are designed for contentment and ease for all ages to reach the top. To add to the comfort, one of its Magic Carpet rides comes equipped with a Plexiglass cover for those snowy, chilly days.

Southern California’s premier snow-tubing park is the ultimate outdoor family outing that creates memories that last a lifetime. In fact, many families make sliding down the slopes of Big Bear Snow Play an annual tradition.

Families that plan to visit Big Bear this winter and spring can experience the thrill of inner tubing down white-covered slopes seven days a week. Along with all of the recent snow Mother Nature has brought, Big Bear Snow Play plans to continue snowmaking efforts as weather permits to add to its five to 20 foot snow base.

With Big Bear Snow Play’s quality snow pack, it’s projected to remain open through Easter weekend in April.

Big Bear Snow Play is open daily for snow tubing from 10am to 4pm. Glow Tubing is every Friday, Saturday, and holiday nights from 5pm to 9pm.

Snow tubing participants must be at least 36” tall.

Snow Tubing passes, which include tube rental and Magic Carpet lift, are $35 for General Admission, and small children (36” to 42” in height) are $20 with a paying adult. Guests are free to come and go as they please.

Big Bear Snow Play is located at 42825 Big Bear Blvd. (three miles east of Big Bear Village, next to Motel 6).
