Lewis Family Playhouse Goes Indie-Classical with Cello Rock Band, Break of Reality

March 16, 2019

New York-based cello rock band Break of Reality make their Lewis Family Playhouse debut Saturday, March 16, at 8pm, showcasing their one-of-a-kind “cinematic rock” covers of favorite rock and metal hits, beloved film and television scores, and their own fresh, original songs.

Having sold out concerts across the globe, Break of Reality is regarded as one of the world’s premier altclassical chamber ensembles. Gold level tickets are $30 for General and $28 for Seniors/Youth. All Platinum level tickets are $35.

Break of Reality was founded in 2003 at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. The band’s signature cello rock sound has bridged the gap between classical, rock, and world music listeners and in 2015, the members of Break of Reality were appointed music ambassadors by the U.S. State Department.

Their interpretations of music by Tool, Metallica, and System of a Down have been enjoyed by millions via Spotify, Pandora Music, and YouTube, where their viral Game of Thrones Theme cover alone has received over 20 million views. The band has released four full length albums, including The Sound Between (2006), Spectrum of the Sky (2009), Covers (2012), and Ten (2014). Their music has been featured on a variety of radio, television, and internet outlets, including NPR, PBS, Dateline NBC, Yahoo Music, and Huffington Post.
